Girls Get Going is a wellbeing program aimed at getting women and girls moving and loving it. The Queensland Government provided $9500 to Scenic Rim Regional Council to the Girls Get Going program to get women and girls active for life. Girls Get Going runs over 8 weeks from 16 Oct through 10 Dec.
Fassifern Falcons and AFLQ Brisbane South have been provided with some of this funding to run an AFL9s program, absolutely free for participants. #GirlsPlayToo in this program designed for girls and women to get involved and experience the great game of AFL. Participants will be taught AFL skills and play AFL games with the focus being on fun and enjoyment. This is a fantastic opportunity for females of all ages to get out, get active & spend time with their sisters, mother, grandmothers and friends.
The program begins Monday 16th October, 4pm-5pm for 8 weeks at Boonah State School Oval, Park Street, Boonah. Thanks to the funding from the Queensland Government and Scenic Rim Regional Council, we are able to run this program at no cost to participants. Just wear comfortable clothing, suitable footwear and a hat, bring a water bottle and towel.
